Dr. Kim Viljoen was originally born in South Africa, where she gained a strong love of animals from an early age. After globetrotting for a number of years, she went to St George's University, Grenada for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree - this included a year spent in Dublin, Ireland for her clinical rotations. After graduating in 2020, she moved to Toronto and has been working in ER ever since. Emergency and critical care is her passion, followed closely by a love of surgery. In her free time she enjoys gardening, and is keen on freshwater fish - she even breeds bettas on the side! She lives with her dog Biscotti and her cat Poseidon, and is constantly kept on her toes by their hijinks!
