Ryan grew up in Vaughan and discovered his passion for veterinary medicine in high school through a co-op placement at a Toronto clinic. What began as an introduction to the field quickly turned into a long-term commitment, as he spent the next eight summers working as a Veterinary Assistant while completing his university studies.

Ryan attended the University of Guelph, earning an undergraduate degree in Animal Biology followed by a master’s degree in Animal Science. His graduate research focused on reducing stress for animals in clinical environments—an interest that continues to shape how he approaches patient care and client experience today.

After graduation, Ryan gained industry experience at IDEXX Laboratories and later stepped into a Practice Management role at a local veterinary clinic. He eventually brought his leadership experience to the emergency and referral setting, where he developed a strong appreciation for the fast-paced, collaborative environment required to support urgent and surgical cases.

At VERHWT, Ryan is passionate about fostering a supportive team culture, strengthening relationships with referring veterinarians, and ensuring companions and their families feel informed and cared for during stressful situations. He believes that clear communication and a united team approach are essential to delivering exceptional emergency and surgical care.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys long walks and bike rides with his dog, Oscar, cheering on his favourite Serie A soccer teams, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
